A Brief History of Case & Son Insurance
On January 25th, 1868, Civil War Veteran Alex E. Case received his first appointment as insurance agent in the Marion Centre settlement.
January 25th, 1893, Rosse Case joined his father in the business, and the name Case & Son was established.
March 24th, 1920, Alex H. Case was made a partner in the business and was active until shortly before his death in 1981. Rosse B. Case and Alex Case Jr. became partners in the firm on December 25th, 1955.
In January of 2001, the business became incorporated, and the name was changed to Case & Son Insurance, Inc.
Alex Case Jr. passed away on March 20th, 2001, and was active in the firm until his battle with cancer forced him to remain at home for the last two months of his life. Rosse B. Case has retired, but is still active in the agency today.
The fifth generation of the Case family, Alex H. (Casey) Case, joined the firm on October 14th, 1988 and currently serves as President of the corporation. Lori Fruechting is employed full time as a licensed CSR.
Case & Son Insurance Inc. is located at 220 East Main Street in Marion, and offers home, auto, farm, business, life insurance and annuities. It is the oldest insurance agency in the State of Kansas to operate continuously in the same location, under the same name. Hence the firms slogan In the Same Business in the Same Place Since 1868
